Our Home Far Away From Home

The bell, little jewellery box and....I was looking at a jewellery box at a shop, a little one with pretty paintings on it. I asked the man just how much it was. He said: "do you even know what it is?" (how rude). I said, it's jewellery box. He said: "the white parts are made of ox horn, very difficult in the making. Five hundreds dollars for this one."
I looked at him and said: "I came from Indonesia. My husband and I shopped around the globe. I wish I can show you a hand crafted little dragon that I bought in Bali, made of deer horn. That is what I called art. For this one, I wouldn't pay a half price." And then I left. At the next store, we saw the same only it wasn't a box but a night stand. We thought that it was even better. The lady was very pleasant so we bought it. And there it was, something different than Korean chest.

Nia, di Korea emang apa-apa mahal dan orangnya suka membesar-besarkan produknya yang gak seberapa canggih itu. Terus terang, kerajinan tangan mereka kalah jauh dengan Indonesia punya. Tapi bangganya minta ampun.

Yes, 95% are for export. Local or China consumption is so far limited. Hong Kong is getting popular now as one of the biggest jewelry shop started to order from us.
