TOYS
It’s been a while since Sarah wants to have Barbie Car. It was pink and nice. Only to shop here in Mexico, the quality is NO good. We keep postponing with a thought that when we move back to the US, we’ll buy one for her.
Time went by, there’s always new model in the market that is getting prettier each time. One day she begged me to buy. I said: “Sarah, we don’t need that. People put nice display so children like you would want to buy. The toy maker will get all the money. The same like your daddy. He makes car to sell, and he would want every body to keep buying new cars so he can get the money…”
She responded: “so we can shop and buy food mommy…”
“Exactly”. (I winked)
Another day there’s even prettier model of the Barbie car. She couldn’t help herself begging me again. I said: “No Sarah…not in Mexico…” but obviously she really really wanted that car that she replied quickly: “But the daddies make this to sell. We should buy this one mommy, so their babies will have money to buy food.”
Right Back @ Me
At the age of three, Sarah is enjoying shopping with me. But one thing that I appreciate alot from her that she never asked for anything. She just liked to walk around the mall, had some ice cream or Chinese food. She never asked for things.
Later on as she is growing, she started to point few things at the store and say: "I don't have this one. I will buy this one". I always remind her: "Sarah, you don't have to have everything."
One day at home as usual she played with my pencils, pens and everything at my computer desk. I told her: "please don't use my things because you're gonna loose it and I don't have them anymore."
She replied: "It's OK mommy, you don't have to have everything."
