Our Home Far Away From Home

Posted by Widi on Apr 24, '08 12:44 PM for everyone

After dropping Sarah at school around 8:30 I decided to go shopping in Plaza Real whre HEB is. Came out from shopping with a full troley, a lady who parked next to my car came out and said in Spanish: "Please watch my baby a little bit, I need to pay the phone over there". Accross the parking lot there's an Axtel office. I said: "wait!" But too late she ran to the office.

My habbit is that I would open the car first before opening the trunk. But since I was distracted, the first thing I wanted to do is putting all the food in the trunk and wait for that crazy lady to come back. I opened the trunk and put all the grocery inside with the keys in my hand.

When I finished, I looked around that lady still didn't come yet so...I closed the trunk and then realized that I must have dropped the key inside as it disappeared from my hand. Uh, now what? I couldn't get the key back as I haven't opened the car. Soon the lady came back and said: "Gracias...muchas gracias...." (palelu ijo gw jadi kehilangan kunci nih).

So I called my husband. He said that he was in a meeting that will last until who knows when. I was panic but he talked to his co-worker at the plant to bring some one to open the car. I told him that my car was in the front line of the parking lot. He said that I would need to wait about half an hour.

Well, the best thing to do is going back to Plaza Real and did a little bit more of shopping (bad habbit). I shopped for about half hour, walked back to my car....and... there they were...Rudolpho with the locksmith just parked his car near mine. The locksmith opened the door with a kind of wire, the alarm went off, he reached out the button to open the trunk and there ! My keys were laying there among the plastic bags.

Phiuuuh...
